Light, ventilated and field-adaptable — the modern choice for data, instrumentation and hygiene-critical spaces.

Wire mesh trays — also called basket trays — are welded from high-strength steel wires into an open lattice. The result weighs a fraction of sheet tray, installs quickly, and can be cut and re-formed on site with simple hand tools to make bends, tees and drop-outs exactly where the route needs them.
The open basket is ideal for the cables it is designed to carry: network, instrumentation, control and other light circuits. Airflow is unobstructed, cables are visible for inspection at a glance, and there are no closed surfaces to trap dust — the reason mesh tray dominates data centres, hospitals, and food and pharmaceutical plants where hygiene audits matter.
Metal Hub manufactures mesh trays in zinc-plated and hot-dip galvanized steel for general duty, and stainless steel for washdown and corrosive environments, with matching bend and tee sections plus the full support hardware family.
| Parameter | Options |
|---|---|
| Construction | Resistance-welded steel wire lattice |
| Wire finishes | Zinc-plated, hot-dip galvanized, stainless steel |
| Sections | Straight tray, bend, tee (site-formable) |
| Typical duty | Network, instrumentation, control and light power cables |
| Supports | Ceiling hangers, wall brackets, under-floor stands |
| Requirement | Wire mesh tray | Perforated tray |
|---|---|---|
| Speed of installation | Fastest | Moderate |
| Weight per metre | Lowest | Higher |
| On-site route changes | Cut & form in minutes | Needs fittings |
| Hygiene / washdown | Best (open, no dust shelf) | Moderate |
| Heavy power feeders | Not suitable | Good |
Light circuits: structured cabling, instrumentation, control wiring and small power. For heavy feeders, step up to our perforated or ladder trays.
Yes — that is its signature advantage. With a wire cutter and bending tool, installers form bends, tees and drop-outs in minutes, without waiting for factory fittings.
Zinc-plated for dry interiors, hot-dip galvanized where humidity or outdoor exposure is involved, and stainless steel for food, pharma and washdown areas.
The open lattice leaves nowhere for dust or washdown water to accumulate, and full cable visibility makes inspection immediate — both regular audit points in food and pharma facilities.
