Raceways & Trunking
Overview

When Cables Need a Closed Path

A raceway is an enclosed metal channel with a closing cover — a protected corridor for wiring rather than an open shelf. Where trays expose cables to the environment, trunking seals them away from dust, moisture, mechanical damage and casual contact, and presents a clean, paintable face in finished spaces.

Dividers turn a single trunking body into segregated compartments, letting power and signal cables share one route while maintaining the separation that wiring codes and EMC practice demand.

Metal Hub manufactures raceways and trunking in widths from 50 to 1000 mm and heights from 25 to 100 mm, in sheet thickness 1.6 to 3.0 mm, supplied with covers, dividers, and the matching fittings needed for complete routes.

  • Widths 50 – 1000 mm, heights 25 – 100 mm
  • Available with or without internal dividers
  • Covers included — clean finished appearance

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a raceway and a cable tray?

A tray is an open support structure; a raceway is a closed channel that fully encloses the wiring. Choose raceways where cables need protection from dust, drips, tampering or where a clean finished appearance matters.

Can power and data share one trunking run?

Yes — specify the divider option. The internal barrier maintains segregation between compartments so power and signal services can share a single route within code requirements.

Do enclosed cables need derating?

Heavily loaded power cables in enclosed trunking dissipate less heat than in open tray, so fills should be checked against derating tables. Our team verifies fill and derating from your cable schedule at no charge.

What finishes are available?

Hot-dip galvanized for harsh or outdoor environments, powder-coating for colour-matched interiors, and enamel painting for budget indoor duty.
